WoD Interlude is a side story taking place around the same time as the main vampire story. It tells the story of three college students who go to the same university William Tufts ran his psychotic cult from. Benjamin and "Chance" are two members of the university rugby team, and with their friend overachiever and perfectionist Fiora (me), they get invited to a party.
This party happens every year, and it's a great event. They do their best to hide it from everyone else, and this year it will be in the center of the city. We arrive and it looks really decked out; the special effects are quite dramatic. On the ceiling are some sort of replicas of giant spiders, and there are fake eight foot long corpses laid out on tables. We all start drinking and having a great time. As time goes on, I'd swear that I saw some of the spider limbs moving into different positions, but I chalk this up to having drank too much tonight. Later, Benjamin calls me over to one of the corpses, which he tells me is "weird". I take a look at it and.. this thing looks real. We're too drunk to do much of anything else though, until the lights go out.
A spotlight comes up on a guy wearing a robe and what looks like a goat's head. He starts saying "Believers will be saved, and nonbelievers will be devoured," then chanting in a language no one recognizes. The whole thing looks hokey, until the ceiling seems to come to life with giant mutated spiders. The corpses rise too, and on their hands are horrible looking Freddy Krueger knives. They start slashing into people and the spiders are descending from the ceiling. One descends right in front of me and Benjamin.
Immediately he tries to protect me and leaps up to the spider's distorted human torso, and he manages to break its arm before the beast impales him in the spine with its scorpion-like tail. He tells me to run and I do, but I can't get out because of the slashing corpse beasts blocking all paths out. I remember Benjamin has a cellphone so I start heading back towards him before I'm grabbed from behind by another spider. I try to back out under it to get away but.. it sits on me and squashes me.
In the distance I hear gunshots. It's Chance, who took a gun off the robed man and is now firing into the spiders. He blows out the head of the one that stabbed Benjamin. The corpse creatures are overtaking him. I look off and see another spider has carried Benjamin's paralyzed body over to the slashing beasts, and they slit his throat. Soon there are no more gunshots and everything goes black for me. When I come to, it's only for an instant, as my own throat is slit open.
We wake up in the building the party was at. Plenty of people are there with us, but not everyone. All our stuff seems to be gone, and so are the spiders and the other creatures. We're extremely confused, but it looks like Benjamin has a big wound on his back where the spider got him. Interestingly enough he's not a paraplegic, which he should be considering the spider broke his spine. The rest of us seem to have no wounds. We decide to bring him to the hospital anyways, to make sure he's okay. When we get there, weirdly enough our hands start going through things, even people, who don't seem to notice us at all.
We start wandering around London, looking for anybody who notices us, and eventually we find someone. She tells us we're dead, and this place we're in is like limbo. This kinda blows our minds, obviously! The reason we didn't "move on" is because things are tying us to this world, like a desire to protect our families and loved ones from this spider menace, a desire to know what the hell was going on, to avenge our deaths, etc.
In southern London we hear about scouting groups who are investigating some sort of incident happening in central London. There are three huge tornadoes around the city, like huge energy vortexes, and apparently the center of the city has a massive hole in it, and that is where the spiders and corpse creatures are coming from. Something big is apparently happening here, and if we don't do something about it, the same thing will start happening in "real world" London too.
Benjamin actually happened to have some books on the occult and the people we are talking to seem quite interested in knowing that Ben actually knew about the corpse creatures from some book or another. One of them is Rebecca Creed. (refresher, see Rebecca Creed from the vampire storyline!) Unfortunately because we are dead and the books are in the material plane, we really can't look through them extensively, so Benjamin sets to bequeath them in his will to a group of vampires that Rebecca is working with (I know those guys!!). She also tells us about Alex, a spirit known as a bane. He was controlling her brother Scott to kill people, turn them into wraiths (ghosts), so they can then be gathered up by the corpse creatures and tossed into the hole to be devoured or consumed or whatever happens to them there. She says Alex is very dangerous but there is only one individual he fears, and it's the vampire who is helping to create all these creatures (assumably, Kal). He says anyone tainted with his blood is connected to the huge hole opening up, and Alex is afraid of that.
This was it for the interlude, and I'm not sure if we will continue this storyline alongside the vampire one (considering we are also interacting with people playing via email, we probably can't or we'll get too far behind in the story). It reveals more about the general plot of the game, however, and is also helping our other characters out. Also if my vampire character is indeed tainted with Kal's blood I could be in a lot of deep shit.
We begin this journey by going to pick up Gwyn and Trevor, who has now been kicked out of his clan and forced to join ours for the time being. I like that because I think Trevor is awesome but he's pissed. Ultimately Trevor says he wants to go to Corto's place, since he hasn't been answering any of our calls and wants to know what the hell is going on.
We head over there and the doorman says Corto's not seeing anybody, and to go away. The first thing Ed does is chuck Trevor up onto the roof to look for a way in from there. I scale the side of the building to help him with this, although there is a hatch blocking the only way inside and not even my claws can cut through it. Trevor also says he sees a lot of spirits wandering around up here. Trevor drops back down and I climb down and we work on getting inside.
Trevor knocks on the door again and when the doorman slides the bar open to tell us to get the hell out of there, Trevor does some crazy magic shit and knocks him out. Then we can stick our arms in through the slot in the door and open the latch to get in. Inside it's completely dark, but heading up to Corto's place, I can see six people standing there. They have no eyes or tongue and blood coming from their ears, and yeah if you get close to them they explode into burning goo o_O Also... Kal is there where Corto's throne is.
Kal's turned all black again, but the lower half of his body is melting into the throne room. It looks like he's also blind, but I can't tell if it's just from being in the dark or something else. He looks pretty messed up. Kal tells us he's going to kill all of us and that we'll all be devoured by Korch. He appears to pass out there, and despite our efforts, he doesn't die or even wake up. We try to go up into Corto's back room but more exploding eyeless tongueless people are there and one falls down the stairs, smashing into Raymond and tearing off his clothes AGAIN.. (sigh, and again I'm stuck staring at his big black ass) We get our asses out of there and they chuck a Molotov cocktail inside and there's an explosion but looks like there's no smoke or anything as we drive off. We take the unconscious doorman too.
Back at the museum we get the doorman awake and he says he was guarding Corto.. but he also thinks today is actually three weeks ago, so someone's been messing with his memory. He, Raymond, and Trevor decide to head back over to Corto's to check the rest of the place out, while Gwyn, Ed, and I go to the mental hospital! Why? Because one of Gwyn's associates who works there has something we need to hear.
We get to the mental hospital and we get shown a tape of a guy ranting and raving about vampires existing and someone who could 'move the shadows'. Sounds like a Lasombre. The bad news is this poor guy was turned into a ghoul so he survived a five story fall and has two rather obvious bite wounds on his neck and was found drained of blood. All this is a pretty blatant breach of the Masquerade, but ultimately we get the address where this all went down. We decide to go and check it out.
Our little group starts the next adventure by checking out the black goo Raymond claims to see coming from Scott/Alex's old apartment. We all head over and start doing some silly experiments: Ed stands in it and lets it go up his whole body into his mouth and stuff before getting away from it. It does the same to me, but if Gwyn stands in it, it moves faster, makes some kind of swirling vortex around her, and goes freaky before she gets the hell out of it. So me, Gwyn, and Ed all go back to get Scott/Alex, to see if it does anything to him.
We pick up Scott, but in the car on the way over, he turns into Alex. Me and Ed, who are sitting on either sides of him, black out (again lol). Gwyn notices this and stops, trying to wake us up. We find out we are in some sort of post-WW1 house with lots of people, including Gwyn and the Prince, who both were alive circa 1930-something. We start talking to her, and later we realize it's changing her memory, as if we really time traveled or something. We come out of it after a while of Ed talking crazy and we deduce that we didn't actually time travel, but Alex was doing something with Gwyn's memories, altering them.
Finally we arrive back at the black goo, and toss Scott/Alex (who is now back in Scott form) into the black goo. Raymond says it's swirling around him like it did with Gwyn, only much faster. When it completely covers him, it's Alex again. He says he's "getting bored" with Alex and then proceeds to launch the black goo at Gwyn. It completely goes into her and disappears and Scott is left, rid of his alternate personality. But now, we find out, Gwyn has her own now, named Susan.
Later we have a meeting with the Prince and the other clan leaders.. who actually voted on whether to blood hunt Ed since he's causing trouble for everyone :P Lucky for him they didn't, but they sent him on a special mission to act as an embassary to the Sabbat. I decide to follow him out on this. Down at the docks where I saw the spider, we find someone, who actually gives us Angelique's cellphone number. He calls her and we arrange a meeting outside of the Parliament house. She is there along with the other Brujah.
We talk for some time about all the things that have been happening to us, and they tell us that Tarsis and Kal attempted to summon Korch once in Madrid, and that was when Tarsis was killed and Kal got away. They believe he is trying to do the same thing here, or he is just rambling and full of crap. Ed delivers his message and my Sire says she'll give it to whoever is in charge of the Sabbat trying to take over London now.
Now when I go out to hunt later on, everything goes as normal, I drain someone of some blood, but... all the new blood becomes immediately contaminated (aww crap). So now it looks like the only way I can get rid of it for good is to drain myself completely of blood.. meaning I would have to frenzy, which would probably be a very bad thing, for me (I'd start looking like an animal) and for anybody around me (I'd try to kill them). Very bad news, but I'll have to deal with that later. Aside from the dreams, the venom doesn't have any other bad effects. All I am seeing is the spider's memories.
During the course of all this I have two additional dreams. In one, I am seeing Kal pin someone up to one of those vivisection platforms. When this is done, the platform sinks into the earth, and some kind of demon-looking stitched together person crawls out of a wax pillar, like I saw in my first dream. In the second dream, I am the spider we killed, watching Angelique kill the other spider by driving a pole through its head. I'm watching this from the sewer, and when I see it happen, I feel very sad before scuttling down the sewer system.
Later, Gwyn has a discussion with her other half, Susan, who mentions "the one who kills too quickly". I actually assumed she was talking about Ed.. but she was actually talking about me! Off in the land of the dead, William Tufts is apparently a bit angry that I killed him as I did (even though he was already dying). So I'm in a bit of trouble with all this tainted blood and ghosts after me. :P
Gwyn and Ray get back to the museum later and tell us everything that happened. At Scott's house, they saw some kind of weird black goo and a guy who looked like a hobo, and looked very very angry with them. In our time with Scott himself, we found out that he actually has a split personality. When he is Scott Creed, he's a fairly pleasant guy, but clearly quite confused most of the time (we'd locked him up in the room where I was dumped off after I was turned). When he is Alex Creed however, he is a mean, hateful bastard and apparently, a serial killer. Apparently he associated with Kal sometime after the death of his sister, probably when his personality split. Some weird things happened while Alex was out as well. Candles on the nearby table were moving by themselves, and he created some weird kind of gust of wind when he got angry.
Gwyn got herself a meeting with the Prince. When I mentioned that I knew where one of the spider creatures was, she said I should come too. Ed, unfortunately, had to sit this one out, as he was in his last day of recovery from his wounded arm. Later he'd be pretty upset about this since he missed a hell of an.. encounter :P which he loves.
Me, Ray, and Gwyn go over to a warehouse where the Prince is torturing some vampire she apparently found intruding in the city. They talk for a while before asking about the spiders. She is still concerned only with the Sabbat, not the demon invasion that seems to be happening. We all drive over to the sewer where I saw the spider and the Sabbat fighting each other. The Prince tells me to lead on, and unfortunately I really don't know where I'm going, but I use my abilities to lead us through the tunnel systems.
We walk for almost two hours and the Prince is making snide remarks, clearly not believing me about this, but I'm desperate to find something. I step forward and hear a crunch; the floor below is no longer sewage but a leafy floor. Me and Gwyn start brushing away the leaves, since this looks kinda peculiar. Before we even realize it, the floor heaves up and one of the spider monsters whips out in a flash, grabbing me with its spider legs and yanking me down inside in the blink of an eye. Kinda like a horribly mutated trapdoor spider.
What the spider's doing is laying there with me on its belly, holding me up with its legs, and I'm face-to-face with the mutated human torso part of it. I see it has fangs. I start screaming though and I can tell above me, people are trying to cut through the roof of the trap door, but having some trouble. I feel something pierce my leg in the thigh and see it's the spider's tail, which looks more like a scorpion tail. Immediately it feels like my leg goes numb, and I take my good old Gangrel claws out. Just as Ray and the Prince come crashing down through the roof of this pit, I dig my claws down into the spider's gut. Ray lands on top of me and by then both of my legs are totally numb and not working (oh shit). He, the jackass, lifts me up and actually throws me as a weapon. My claws again go down the side of the creature, but here chitin must be protecting it because I can't get through. The Prince leaps down and jams a sword she carried with her down into the spider's belly, killing it.
By now my left arm is also numb, and I tell everyone to please please please get samples of that spider. I say to the Prince, "do you believe me now?" before I go totally numb and eventually lose consciousness.
I'm dreaming. It's a very lucid dream though and I feel like it's real. I'm wearing pure white robes and standing in a large field of grass. More people are coming, dressed in the same robes, so I blindly follow them. At the top of a grass hill, there is an altar. Other people there are wearing more ornate robes. There are two pillars up near the top of the hill, and it almost looks like they're made of wax. Three people are being restrained up there.. one naked guy laying on the altar, and two infants, each held up near the columns. Everyone starts to chant in a language I do not understand, although I can pick up the words "Korch" and "Tarsis". Eventually everyone starts chanting Tarsis' name and the two people holding the infants twist their necks and put them down on the columns. The man at the head of the altar, Tarsis, pulls out a huge knife and slices the naked man open. Then he starts indicating to people. When he points at someone, they look down and shy away. When he points to one man though, a big grin lights up on his face and he looks happy. When I look at this person, I see it's Kal, though he looks younger, and human.
Kal goes up to the altar as the rest of the cultists start leaving. Tarsis bends Kal down over one of the pillars, then likewise slits his throat and pushes him down into it; the columns are actually something like wells. Everyone had left after all this commotion, and I'm alone. I go up to the altar, and see there's blood everywhere. I look down the well but don't see anything.. I can't even use my abilities either; it feels like I'm human too.
Tarsis approaches me while I'm looking around the altar. "Why didn't you leave with the others?" he ask, and I'm feeling really lost for what to say. "I'm sorry, I don't know where I'm supposed to go," I stammer. "I know where you can go," Tarsis says, and pulls out that long knife of his. I try to fight him off but Tarsis pushes me back against the well Kal went into. "It's funny," Tarsis says to me, "he was the only one who volunteered for this." Then he slits my throat with the knife and pushes me down into the well. I hit the bottom of the tunnel on something soft, and I see there's a room down here. I'm losing blood and I feel like I'm dying; looking around I see the bodies of thousands of people down here, including one of the infants. I see Kal crawling off towards a cup near the end of this room.
I try to catch up to Kal but I can't make it. He weakly grabs up for the cup and starts drinking its contents - some of it runs down his robes and I can tell it's blood. Now I feel like I'm losing consciousness but Kal seems to be getting better now, still in a lot of pain but standing up. He approaches me and puts his hands on me. I feel him twist my neck and everything goes black again.
When I come to I'm being held down by three people I don't recognize, and Trevor. I'm thrashing and screaming, Trevor tells me to calm down and after a little bit I do. He explains that my group carried me out of the sewers and left me here, hoping they were able to cure me of the venom I had in me. Trevor helps get me back to the museum and explains that the effects of the venom might last a while, at least while I have the contaminated blood in my system. I also tell him about my dream and he says such things usually only happen when you've ingested the blood of another vampire. Somehow did I get Kal's blood?
Let's just hope the dreams are the only side effect of the venom ;)
A few days have passed since Kal went supernova in the museum. Strangely enough he didn't burn it down, just left some scorch marks on the floor. Ed's arm is growing back slowly, and until it's fully healed I've been hunting for him.
About two days after the Kal episode I'm heading back home with my date (and Ed's dinner for the night) and we're crossing by a bridge that runs over a small river that the sewer empties out into. Out in the distance I spot some people and a... thing. I focus closer and I see it's a few people I don't recognize, my sire, and the Brujah leader of the group. The thing they are fighting looks like a nasty conglomeration of human and spider. The spider rears its legs and slices off the head of one of the vampires I don't recognize. My date, being some kind of idiot, keeps trying to wander off in that direction to see what the commotion was, even after the Brujah fires off his shotgun at the spider thing. A crowd starts gathering and my date calls 999; I just get the heck out of there and hope that maybe the spider would at least take care of that Sabbat problem.
Back in the museum, Ray is starting to notice weird spiral patterns on the ground around where William Tufts died. He apparently saw Tufts get sucked into a portal thing at the time of his dead, and now spiral patterns of dust are appearing at the spot, and all the floors above. We ask Trevor if he knows anything about this kind of thing and he refers us to a guy named Corto, who is apparently a pimp (when we first see him he's naked which is pretty disturbing in a hilarious sort of way).
Well we go see Corto and he decides it would behoove us to send Gwyn to the land of the dead (the ghost of Rebecca seems to be following her around a lot). There was some sort of strange ritual with a viper and some sticks and crystals and it looks like Gwyn's body is falling apart. Me, Ed, and Raymond are helping keep her alive with support, but the longer we stay in the land of the dead, the weaker we start to become. We can hear her talking and she can hear us, but we don't see what she sees. Later when she comes back she tells us she saw huge tornado vortexes (five of them) around the city, one rising up from the museum. Rebecca tells her we need to find her brother Scott Creed, and that he is somehow connected to all of this. As she's finishing up, I fall out of the circle, exhausted and drained. Now I can't tell what's happening, and soon Ed drops out as well. After some time, Corto breaks the circle and Gwyn also looks very drained, but Ray was fine with all of this.
Me and Ed go out but we miss a LOT of action on Gwyn and Raymond's side when she unleashes a little Malkavian dementia into Scott and gets an axe to the face. I always thought Edward would have been the first of us to frenzy, but it turns out it was the elderly museum owner ;P
Me and Ed decide to go out for the night. The Prince called and told us that we should be looking for Sabbat, and if we see any, to call the Scourge immediately (kinda like the police for the Cam) and he'll handle it. So we head out to a club with the specific intention of searching out my sire and the veteran guy. Ed seems to think I could take my sire, and he at least makes me more confident about it.
At the club we don't see them, but we do see a Sabbat: one of the ones who attacked Anastasia in the alley. We call the Scourge and he comes over. The Sabbat goes into the back room of the club, and when the Scourge gets there we all go back together. After a bit of preliminary searching we find a hidden door and a basement type area. The Scourge pauses, hearing voices, and we make a plan. There are six Sabbat there and he wants us to take them all. One of them, however, he wants captured alive. This individual is a vampire who can manipulate the shadows, known as a Lasombre. So we rush in, the Scourge and Ed taking off quick since they have a special ability that makes them quite fast. It's my first real fight!
The Scourge is taking on three vampires at once, Ed is taking another guy, so I take the fifth, leaving the Lasombre smirking in the corner and watching the fight. The guy looks very burly but also very confused at what's happening. I try slashing him with my claws but he grabs my wrists; I try slashing him with my foot claws and he lifts me into the air and smashes me into a wooden bar, breaking it into pieces. Then he hoists me up and hurls me across the room into bottles of alcohol. He actually throws me at Ed, who killed the vampire he was fighting, but Ed ducks and jumps on the vampire I was fighting. When I get up, I'm covered in alcohol and aware there is a fire burning upstairs; the Scourge set it to prevent the Lasombre from leaving that way. Speaking of whom, he does try to walk out that way, but sees the fire and is turned around. Now I'm the only thing blocking his exit out.
I try to shove him away but he manipulates the shadows and simply pushes me aside. As he heads out however, I land a good one on him and slash my claws down his spine, dealing a nasty blow that at the very least will give him weeks of recovery and a few nasty scars. He yelps but continues out and Ed takes care of the other vampire. The Scourge killed all three he was fighting but is left very wounded, but he'll be okay.
We leave and start heading back to the museum and come across a very precarious situation. Kal (the ancient vampire we saw in our astral projection "dream") is there, trying to steal some precious artifact he needs from the museum. He has turned black and burning hot. Ed tries to punch him in the face but his fist goes through and he pretty much loses his entire arm. It continues to get searing hot and luckily for us, a friend comes to our aid and opens up a portal to his clan's hidey hole. We get out just as the museum seems to burst full of light and heat (actually burning Raymond's ass as he leaves, leading to some funny scenes where he's running around in what looks like ass-less chaps). Our friend (Trevor) also gets his face melted.
Gwyn and Raymond head back to the museum while me and Ed resolve to check out the sewers again for Korch's giant spider buddies. Ultimately though we did kill five Sabbat!
We wake up after last night's craaaazy adventure and check the good old BBC for any news on the people we saved. As it so happens it is on the news. Me and Ed are called good samaritans for rescuing those people and the police are looking for more information about us and also the house these victims came from (they are considered "crazy" now, babbling about vampires and they also didn't know the location of the house they were being held in). So we call from a payphone to inform the police the location of William Tufts' house.
Little did we know, there are cameras EVERYWHERE in London.
A doctor (who is also a Malkavian) from the hospital we dropped the victims off at comes by with surveillance footage of me and Ed dropping the people off. I'm really not recognizable, but Ed certainly is (he has a sideways mohawk). He tells us to destroy the tape and to be more careful. Out own Malkavian (I found out her name is Gwyn) also chews us up for what we did, which came very close to breaking the Masquerade and revealing vampires exist. She knows I don't know any better since I'm a newbie, but Ed should have been more careful. Ed is forced to cut his mohawk :(
Gwyn has a meeting with the Prince after all this and she's clearly pissed about what we did. The phone booth we called from also took pictures of us that they managed to get their hands on. The news story isn't that big anymore but the police might still be looking for us anyway. There are bigger problems to deal with. The Sabbat are planning a take-over in London, word is a Sabbat general has been sent here.
While Gwyn is at her meeting, me and Ed have a strange episode. We start feeling pretty tired, which he knows shouldn't be happening to a vampire but I have no clue. We actually pass out on the couch and have what feels like a very lucid dream. We're back in Tufts' mansion, we can see each other and touch each other, but we end up going through walls and other people can't see us. Kinda like we're ghosts. Later we learn this is astral projection. Anyways we find a room where we recognize Tufts talking with who looks like a very old and powerful vampire. Tufts is a human by the way. The vampire looks very mad at him and says "Tarsis will kill us both if we don't get this artifact from the museum". Tarsis is a vampire who is supposed to be dead. Me and Ed see a short glimpse of the person who is astrally projecting us: what looks like a Native American woman vampire in a white suit. Then we wake up.
We do some research while other members of our group go out to hunt. The symbol we saw in Tufts' mansion we find out is a symbol of the demon Korch, who interestingly enough is known to summon giant monstrous spiders. Raymond returns from his hunt with a teenage girl vampire. It turns out she is Anastasia, blood-related daughter and childer to our friend Joseph who we assumed was killed by the spider. He tells us she was being beaten up in an alley for information. We happen to have Joseph's old laptop, which contained a deciphered list of contacts, that she happens to be able to crack. The only problem with her is that she is mute (she has no tongue). We find out the very old vampire we saw is known as Kal. As it so happens, we also find another address linked to William Tufts.
Our entire group goes to this new house and knocks on the door. William answers it and he seems to be alone. Gwyn asks him if he knows anything about her missing museum pieces and he immediately closes the door on us and we hear him running. Ed kicks the door in and we grab the little sob; he starts chanting something weird so we have to keep his mouth shut. Oddly enough he isn't scared by us, he struggles quite a bit to get away even when we tie him up and Ed beats him around a little. He's looking at us with pure hatred. We search his house and in the basement we find.. guess what, another vivisectioned person, this time a woman. Now I want to kill her like I did the first one, but Gwyn insists we can save her, and actually we do. They take down the pins holding her up slowly (I don't help even though I know more about anatomy than they do). As they bring her down her body starts slowly reforming and healing, as vampires do. She loses all her limbs but they'll grow back in time. We find out her name is Claire, a Ventrue who belongs neither to the Sabbat nor the Camarilla. We take her and William back to our place for the rest of the night. Ed punches William a few times too, bashing him up nicely.
The next morning the Malkavian doctor arrives with some kind of truth serum to inject William with, although he states it also might kill him. We don't seem to mind. Once we inject him he starts talking. He says they are summoning Korch tonight, and he will devour the world. William thinks being devoured is a good thing that will make him one with Korch. The people on the platforms were being opened up for Korch to eat them, and the process "opens them up" to the demon, and makes them bound to it. We find out that Carlos' wife is also dead, in William's backyard. After this I slit his throat with my claw. This is the first person in my life (and unlife) that I've ever killed for a reason other than mercy (unlike the human in the basement who was dying and would be left with Tufts). Even though I feel it was the right thing to do, I feel a ton of remorse for killing someone and go out on my own for the rest of the night. I happen to see my sire in a bar I visit but she doesn't notice me and I slip out unnoticed. I feed and in my frustration accidentally harm the person I'm feeding off of, only making me more frustrated. When I return that night I really don't talk to anyone else about it. Raymond tells everyone how he saw the woman we've all described (and me and Ed found out her name was Rebecca) nearly being sucked into some kind of portal after William died and he saw him "devoured". So this woman appears to actually be a ghost (aka a wraith).
The next day we wake up and find Claire, fully healed and.. gnawing on Anastasia's neck. She is attacking her, Gwyn sees this first. Gwyn bites into Claire, only to find her teeth and the lower half of her jaw melting off from that. I wake up next and slash into Claire with my claws, and find those melting off too, and her wounds grow back very quickly. Ultimately we use a magic necklace that decapitates her, turning Claire into a pile of ashes. This is the part where I say "I TOLD you we should have killed her!!"
The Prince later called a meeting of all the vampires and officially declared war against the Sabbat. They don't believe dealing with an occult demon is really the issue right now. According to her, the occultists are probably just a bunch of kids trying to raise a demon, but for the most part they fail or raise something else that ends up killing them. The ghost lady we have in the museum seems to think differently though.
We start the day night by following up on a new lead. Apparently figurines have started to go missing in Lisa's museum and she wants to know who did it. Sometimes the missing pieces reappear, other times they do not. All the missing pieces are from a native American children's exhibit. Raymond reviews the security tapes and sees parts of the footage are missing, all from a guy named Carlos' shift. He's a well-respected employee. They bring him in to question him and after they start revealing Carlos was lying in his shift reports, he breaks down and starts to cry. Apparently some individuals approached him asking for certain objects or his wife would be in trouble. He didn't believe them and as a result his wife was kidnapped. So he started taking certain things for these people, leaving them at a drop off point, and erasing the evidence as best he could.
While all this is happening, Ed has a very amusing adventure in the tube with his "crew" who accidentally beat up a maintenance worker :P We also see on the news that someone died in the club we were at last night, found in the bathroom with a puncture wound on his side. I recognize it was the guy I was originally dancing with. Angelique must have reached around me while grinding on me and slid a claw into this guy's lung. I didn't even really notice because the club was dark, and I didn't even know who was dancing behind me. I can't even tell when someone puts their claws on my hips! Also, Ed finds out from his clan leader that the veteran guy he attacked was also a Brujah. Because of that, it means he can be called out to fight by this guy pretty much at any time. So now I'm gonna have to deal with Angelique someday, and he'll have to deal with veteran man.
So when Ed returns, me and him decide to follow up on this lead. One of his friends says he was at a party on his college campus where he overheard someone "talking shit" about a lady who had been taken by some of the fraternity alumni. Some of the new frat brothers had been recruited to take her. We wander around and find the kid who was talking about this. Ed roughs him up a bit and soon he takes us to the fraternity house to look at the roster. He points out the individual who seemed to be leading the operation, a William Tufts. A quick check in the phone book gives us his address! We "borrow" Lisa's car and drive out to his place, which happens to be about two hours outside of London.
Now comes the House Of Horrors
We hop over the fence, avoid his guard dogs (quite easily) and come to the door. Ed tells me to use my claws to bust out the lock (my claws can carve through wood and metal). I've never used them before, but I've seen my sire do it. I find out they're pretty fun to use! No wonder Angelique uses them so often :P We break in and there is no alarm that we can hear. We don't see cameras either but they could be there (and considering what we do in here, I REALLY hope there were no cameras). Ed pretty much heads for the basement, and we find the first room in the House of Horrors.
Inside candles are lit and there's a huge platform in the middle of the room, with something actually on it. We go around the platform and see the Horror on it. It's a person, flayed out on the platform, held up by little surgical pins pinning back his muscles and skin, etc. Blood is all over the ground. Worst of all, I notice his eyes are twitching; this poor sap is still alive. That also means he's not human, because no human could live flayed out in a vivisection like this. Even Ed is pretty creeped out by this. I can't stand seeing him like that so I stab him in the heart with my claw to put him out of his misery. He turns into ash, confirming he was indeed a vampire. Then I notice a drop of blood falls from a hole in the ceiling. Apparently this was how they kept him alive: by dripping blood on him occasionally. So we leave the basement and search for the room directly above this one; welcome to the second room in the House of Horrors.
This room is dark, but with my red eyes I can see into the darkness. There are bodies inside. I find a light switch and hit it, and we hear groaning. There are five people in this room, naked, and chained up to the walls. One woman is in the center of the room however, manacled in place. The blood is coming from her somewhere, and dripping down the hole. The people are in bad shape but still alive and could make it. Most can just groan but one says that they've been here for days. I pretend to get a screwdriver to cut them down from the walls (I can't show them my claws and let them know I'm a vampire after all!) then I use my claws to hack through the manacles. At the last person, the lady in the center, I have trouble. I can't cut her free, and my attempts just mangle the lock more. I see that the manacles on her arms actually have blades going down into her wrists; it's where she is bleeding from to give blood to that vampire who was below. I figure that removing the manacles (if we even can) would probably cause her to bleed to death. And we certainly can't leave her here like this. I let Ed escort the other people out, then I feed on her until she has no blood left in her and dies.
Time is running short for us now, as it is we can't even make it back to the museum before sunrise (and of course, sunlight would burn us). First off I chop through the front gate, alerting the guard dogs but they stop just inside the premise. We pile all four remaining people into the car with us, and drive a ways until we find a hospital. We kinda dump the people off there and drive helter skelter back to Ed's flat, which is closer than the museum. We barely make it inside when the sun rises, and we pretty much collapse inside. Wow what a day night
Ultimately I feel more confident now, and less scared of psycho sire jumping out of every shadow. I'm still intimidated by her but I did a lot and I'm a lot less paranoid for it! Also me and Ed are getting closer. The other two kinda seem to treat me with some disdain but we were good partners in the house.
Four days passed since I was turned into a vampire. The Prince still refuses to answer our calls and our one contact for information (a Nosferatu named Joseph) is not calling either, and that's not like him. So we finally decide to buckle down and go to where he lives: in the tunnels of the tube (mind the gap). We head down and.. there's claw marks in the walls. Also we find his cellphone; this was how we found out where to look, we called his phone, heard it ringing, and followed the sound. We keep following down and find what looks like a bomb shelter down the tunnel from the days of blitzkrieg, but it's rather busted up. Deep inside we find Joseph's hidey hole home but it's been ransacked. A hole in the floor reveals what remains of Joseph's body (ash).. and also a chittering sound. There's also spider webs ahh! We all run out of there with the creature chasing us, but we never actually see what it looks like. After that we decide to buckle down and finally see the Prince in person.
In general she is mean :( She says there is no problem with having me in their group, as I would replace Darien, but I should have a Gangrel teach me clan-related things. She also says all Nosferatu in the city are not answering her calls and she can't get in touch with any of them.. seems we have a spider epidemic on our hands. As we're leaving though, we notice several Nosferatu hiding in the shadows. Odd.
After a few more days we are all getting hungry so we head to a club together, looking for victims. Pretty much we attempt to seduce someone there, get taken back to an apartment or alleyway or bathroom etc. and drink their blood. Edward (the punk) and the OC Malkavian (I forget her name) find people quick and leave with them. It takes me a bit longer but I start dancing with a guy I think might be a good candidate. While dancing I feel hands on my hips and think it's just another guy dancing up against me from behind, so really just another victim I can choose from tonight. Raymond, however, sees it's the woman who turned me, grinding up against me dancing and I don't realize it's her. He tries to intervene but the veteran blocks his way and they talk. He basically says "We're not here for her, we want to talk with you guys, she's too young to understand this." He explains that the Sabbat are also having trouble contacting their Nosferatu, and if anything like that is happening to us. I don't notice that any of this is happening, and I'm only interested in who is behind me after I notice the guy I'm dancing with backs off looking ill, and I smell blood on him.
Now when I turn I notice it's my sire behind me and flip out. I push away from her and head for the door but she stops me. When we talk it's obvious she's trying to get to me, get under my skin, etc. When I ask what she wants with me, she says "I just want to check up on my childer, how are things?" She prods about the group I'm with, obviously wanting me to start resenting them.. and I think it may be working. She asks me the same deal about the Nosferatu. When the talking is done, the two leave peacefully enough. Probably because a Scourge came by when he noticed all the ruckus we were making. He doesn't bother anyone though when he sees nothing more is happening. I find someone else to get blood from that night and all is well.
Also I had my blood tested and yes, I am a Gangrel, and that woman's name is Angelique, last seen in Madrid. At this point I am very paranoid that she will appear at any time, whack me with a shovel, and bury me alive (as she previously said she'd do). Our instance in the bar left me quite shaken. I'm also reconsidering my friendship with these people. Although they were kind enough to have taken me in, they still weren't exactly nice about it (tying me up and all). Plus the Malkavian seems kinda mean to me, repeatedly trying to dump me off with another group, talking about Gangrel like they're dogs, etc. So I am giving some thought to what Angelique said. I may hate her for what she did to me, but I also feel a strange attraction or kindred spirit with her. She also said I should go hang out in the woods for a bit. Perhaps just a Gangrel thing, but I know she hangs out there too and I really don't want to be caught alone with her. Also could be a trap. All I know is that she follows me around, watching me. I still don't know why she turned me or what she wants from me.
The dancing bit scared me too, that psycho lady could have killed me easily :(
I moved to London after backpacking across Europe in my 20's and found a job working as a desk clerk for a large company (I forget the name). I was pretty good at what I did and very soon climbing the corporate ladder. Eventually I got an invitation to meet with one of the three company heads, Darien.
I go up to the main office and there's no one else there and also it's 6 pm. So I go into the board room and Darien's in there, with a glass of "wine" (uh oh) and also I hear the door lock behind me (UH oh). We start talking business for a while and then he starts acting creepy. He's about to say more to me when he gets call on his cellphone and starts cursing, and latches three deadbolts on the door. "Three people broke into the building" he said, "And they're carrying firearms." So he has me hide in the closet, which he locks and snaps off the key (UH OH). After some time I hear a lot of commotion going on outside and shots being fired. It goes kinda quiet but I hear them talking and taunting. Someone tries the closet door and, upon finding it locked, just yanks out the whole doorknob. I see an S&M lady, a neo-Nazi, and a grizzled veteran, one of them is holding up Darien and he's got a shotgun blast in the chest but is still alive. The woman grabs me, throws me against the table breaking some ribs, then knocks me unconscious.
When I wake up, I'm in the back of a black SUV with my arms tied behind my back and Darien is there with me, still alive (and I'm wondering how the hell this is possible). We drive away and I don't realize it but the others (Mike, Lisa, and Ari) are following us. We end up at a construction site and I get tossed down into this dirt hole. I get beat up a lot in this adventure. The woman brings out Darien, says something to him, then slits his throat with a huge knife in front of me, decapitating him and he turns into ash (oh shit). Then she hops down into the hole with me (I'm screwed).
At this time the other three have arrived and start attacking the two guys. The woman is still with me and looks like she's just enjoying the fun they're having. Mike clocks the neo-Nazi in the back of the head, digs a knife into his shoulder blade, and pretty much kills that guy. Ari takes the veteran who is much harder... he rips the guy's shotgun off his back and blows off half of his face (but he's still alive). Lisa comes to the hole and the woman pulls me up like a human shield, then slits my throat with her huge claw fingers she has that I failed to mention earlier. So now I'm bleeding and dying but she forces me to drink her blood and says to me how she's going to put me in a grave and make me claw my way out. Then I get dropped and S&M and veteran run the heck out of there.
So now I'm going crazy and I am very very thirsty. Good news is that my wounds are healing up now! Mike, Ari, and Lisa tie me up and drive me back to Lisa's place (she owns a museum in London). They untie me and lock me in a room and toss me some packets filled with blood she has for an emergency and I drink them but don't really know why. Eventually someone comes by and starts explaining stuff but it pretty much blows my mind. That was about all we played for the night.
